tips

As a full-time graduate student, the biggest dream I have is graduating with as little debt as possible. The best gift is a long booking in San Francisco so I can get a little study break. When in doubt, additional tips are the best way to impress me & get in my good graces. You can also always send tips via CashApp or Bitcoin (please inquire for that address).

gifts

Here are my top desires — sure to endear you to me, or keep you in my fond memories when we are apart. Please email me for my PO box, or send the purchase + shipping amount to my CA :)

vinyl

I’ve also recently started collecting vinyl. Music is a great source of connection and intimacy for me, and a record makes a beautiful gift. Here are a few I’d love to have, and I’m also open to you sharing one of your favorites! Hopefully you can get a sense of my music taste from this list, as well as things I post on Twitter.

  1. Chelsea Wolfe, Unknown Rooms

  2. Kedr Livanskiy, Your Need

  3. Lucinda Williams, World Without Tears

  4. Sharon von Etten, epic Ten

  5. any Mulatu Astatke you can get your hands on

books

As an avid reader (with little time for it, but nonetheless…), I have an ever growing “to read’ list that I update with regularity. When facing creative blocks, a book is always an appreciated gift (and the perfect thing to slip my rate into when we’re meeting in public; supporting indie bookstores like City Lights is always appreciated). Here it it is (non exhaustive):

  • this is how you lose the time war — Amal El-Mohtar & Max Gladstone*

  • show yourself to me — Xan West*

  • death valley — Melissa Broder*

  • mrs s — K Patrick*

  • girls against god — Jenny Hval

  • hold me tight — Sue Johnson

  • love is not enough — Mark Manson

  • a working life — Eileen Myles

  • a walk in the woods — Bill Bryson

  • open throat — Henry Hoke
